Last year, we announced a new initiative, C-3 Cares, which seeks to provide marketing services for deserving charitable non-profits in the Miami Valley. For our first C-3 Cares project, we worked with Be Free Dayton on a new website. This year, we received applications from numerous organizations, and in the end, we could not select only one organization to work with. This year, we will be working with two.
We’re excited to announce that this year we will be working with both Big Brothers Big Sisters and Shoes 4 the Shoeless. Both organizations serve children and young people in our area and we felt compelled to get involved with both of them.
Big Brothers Big Sisters has been a national organization for more than 100 years, and operates under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country.
Shoes 4 the Shoeless provides new, properly fitting gym shoes and socks to local children in need. Their mission is to have no child endure the unnecessary physical and emotional distress that accompanies having no shoes or tattered shoes that do not fit.
Applications for C-3 Cares will be accepted during the fourth quarter of each year and the selected organization will be chosen and notified in January of the following year. Find out more about C-3 Cares.
