Announcing Our 2017 C-3 Cares Partner: United Rehabilitation Services

When we began the C-3 Cares initiative in 2013, we never guessed just how amazing the program would turn out to be. Each year, we’ve been fortunate enough to work with truly wonderful people and give a little back to some of the incredible organizations that do so much good in the Dayton region.

With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce our 2017 partner for the C-3 Cares initiative: United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton.

For 60 years, United Rehabilitation Services (URS) of Greater Dayton has provided innovative programs designed to enhance the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities or other special needs such as autism, cerebral palsy, and Alzheimer’s. Serving Dayton and the Miami Valley region, URS has delivered vital services and therapy to nearly 250,000 of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.

Considering all the good work the folks at URS do, we’re honored to have this opportunity to partner with them in 2017.

We’re Moving to the Oregon District!

We are looking forward to a terrific 2014 for our clients and our firm. Along those lines, we are excited to announce that we will be moving our offices. After almost four years of working in very tight quarters, we are expanding with an eye toward continued growth.  Effective January 20th, we will be hanging our shingle on East Sixth St. downtown, in the Oregon District, across the street and a 1/2 block east of Jay’s Seafood.

The new space is a great mix of the old and new. The building is from 1896, but on the inside is has a great deal of contemporary flair. Once the dust all settles we will be having an open house to share our new space with you. This move positions C-3 to be able to continue to get better at our craft, add staff as the need arises and should serve us well for years to come. We will be posting some more pictures coming soon!

C-3’s Carla Hale receives honors, awards

C-3 Group, Social Media Manager

Social Media and Account Manager, Carla Hale

We are proud to announce that Social Media Manager Carla Hale has been awarded several accolades in early 2013.

Carla was recognized by Women in Business Networking (WiBN) as one of the “Top Women to Watch” in 2012 around the Dayton area receiving her award recently at the 2013 ceremony and dinner. Candidates are nominated by former recipients of the WiBN community. Nominees for the recognition are chosen from a variety of industries including: finance, politics, law, arts, education, science, entrepreneurs and nonprofits.

In June 2013, Carla was recognized at the Mercury Awards as a runnerup in the “Best Social Media Rep” category. The Mercury Awards are the American Advertising Federation Dayton’s award program that honors advertising professionals in sales and support including ad specialists, media types, educators and vendors.

Carla led two projects that won Silver Hermes in 2013 for Wright State University. The first award came in the “Elements of Advertising” category for digital creative technology. The second in “Digital Advertising” category for advertising and promotion. The Hermes Creative Awards are an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.

Carla helped found the C3 Group in 2010 and has been a large part of the company’s success. In an everchanging social media field, she invests a significant amount of her time to stay atop the latest trends in both macro and micro markets. This information can then be utilized as part of a client’s marketing strategy to help grow their brand in the digital marketplace.

In addition to her responsibilities developing and executing social media strategies for the C3 Group’s clientele, Carla also CoFounded CultureMASH, an organization of young leaders, in all facets of marketing, including new media, that uses their talents and skill sets to give something back to the community. A well known speaker in the social media field in Southwest Ohio, Hale has spoken and taught groups from the University of Dayton, Wright State University, The School of Advertising Art, Cincinnati State, and Sinclair Workforce Development. She is currently on the advisory board for the School of Advertising Art and the board of directors for American Advertising Federation in Dayton.

Carla Hale Nominated for Mercury Award

Mercury AwardEach year, AAF Dayton puts on the Mercury Awards, an awards program honoring the best and brightest advertising professionals in our area. We are thrilled that in 2013, our Social Media and Account Manager Carla Hale was nominated for Best Social Media Rep.

This is the first nomination for Carla, and for a member of the C-3 Group, but we are sure it won’t be our last. Thank you to AAF Dayton for organizing another wonderful event and to those who nominated Carla. The biggest thanks of all goes to our clients and vendors, without whom we couldn’t succeed.

Hermes 2013 – C-3 Strikes Silver!

This past Saturday night, our team had the privilege of attending the annual AAF Hermes Awards Ceremony. This is an amazing night, where the best of Dayton’s advertising professionals come together and celebrate their achievements. Over 400 people attended this year’s event, held at the Dayton Marriott.

In addition to all of the agencies and other professionals being recognized, this year special recognition was given to Sara McCatherine, the director of AAF Dayton. Sara was awarded the AAF Silver Medal, a recognition of an individual making outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility. Congratulations, Sara!

Two of our projects were honored with Silver awards. Our web design for Wright State University – Hotspot placed Silver in the Elements of Advertising – Responsive Web Design category. The Wright State University HotSpot showcased the experiences that living on campus brings to students. The HotSpot was designed as a showpiece on a touch-screen display at open houses for prospective students and parents. Viewers could touch any box, which would then expand and take you to external websites, if selected. Additionally, viewers could scan a QR code to visit the HotSpot on their mobile phone.

Another project for Wright State Instagram Scavenger Hunt also placed silver in the Digital Advertising – Games category. This was a really fun project where students were assigned teams based on their residence halls and took photos from a pre-designated list. Students uploaded photos to Instagram and/or Twitter and included two hashtags; “#wsuscavenger” to enter the contest, and a second specific to their room assignment, such as “#JH1” for Jacob Hall, First Floor. The website allowed students and visitors to view submitted photos and served as a checkpoint to see which photos had been collected. Floors with the most photos collected by the end date won items like free Chipotle, suites at basketball games, bookstore gift cards, etc.

Both projects came out of several enthusiastic brainstorming sessions with the client, determining what the target audience (Wright State college students) would be most engaged with – in these cases, their cell phones and the popular social media platform, Instagram.

On both projects, Carla Hale was project manager, Paul Garcher was graphic designer, and Josh Cope was programmer. We are very proud of our team and can’t wait to see what next year holds!
